# Who is the CEO of Recyclops?

Our CEO is Ryan Smith. Ryan's vision of a sustainable future is the Northstar of our company!

Recyclops was founded in 2014 when Ryan realized his off-campus apartment didn’t have any recycling options. Upon further investigation he found that most apartments in the U.S. didn’t have recycling options for their tenants either! Thus, Recyclops was born!  
Our services started by providing recycling for apartments in Provo, UT before expanding to providing cardboard recycling for businesses. Recyclops eventually acquired a curbside recycling program in Mapleton, UT which is how our current curbside model got its start.
