Why are we using bags to recycle?

Although it may seem counterintuitive to use more plastic to recycle plastic, we promise we have our reasons! 

1. It improves local air quality! By using bags our drivers can use smaller vehicles instead of large garbage/recycle trucks. Smaller vehicles emit 7.9x fewer pounds of CO2 into the local air!

2. It improves efficiency for driver pickups and transportation, allowing them to haul more recycling in less space.

3. It limits contamination! When you bag your recycling, contaminants don’t spread to other recycling. This means that we can recycle your recycling instead of it being sent to a landfill. 

Bonus reason: where possible, we ship your bags back to their manufacturer to be recycled as well!
