What is the procedure for pickup?

The procedure for pickup is generally the same, but can vary from location to location. Always be sure to check your welcome email, the Recycling Guidelines, and your area's location page to verify proper pickup procedure for your specific area. A list of general procedures based on area type are available below!

 

Bags Only:

  • All accepted paper, paperboard/small cardboard, plastic, and aluminum items are to be bagged in the designated 13-gallon teal/blue Recyclops bags
  • Glass items (with subscription) are to be bagged in the designated 13-gallonbag2 yellow/green bags
  • All bagged items are tied and placed out on your curb by 10pm the night before scheduled pickup until 7pm the day of scheduled pickup
  • Large corrugated cardboard is not required to be bagged but must be broken down and flattened for collection. Cardboard can be left to the side or underneath bags for collection.
  • Ensure all items are clean, free from residue/food debris, and are within pickup amount limits

If items are found not be in accordance with the Recycling Guidelines for pickup, they will not be collected. 

 

Carts Only: Casper, WY

  • Paper products are to be separated in one tote with aluminum and plastics separated in the other
  • All items are sorted correctly and placed out on your curb by 10pm the night before scheduled pickup until 7pm the day of scheduled pickupbin
  • Large corrugated cardboard is not required to be placed in the totes must be broken down and flattened for collection. Cardboard can be left to the side or underneath totes for collection.
  • Ensure all items are clean, free from residue/food debris, and are within pickup amount limits

If items are found not be in accordance with the Recycling Guidelines for pickup, they will not be collected. 

 

Carts and Bags:

  • All bagged items are tied, placed in cart, and out on your curb by 10pm the night before scheduled pickup until 7pm the day of scheduled pickup--If you have not received your cart by your first scheduled pickup date, you are welcome to set your bags (sans the cart) on your curb for collection. 
  • Large corrugated cardboard is not required to be bagged but must be broken down and flattened for collection. Cardboard can be left to the side or underneath your cart for collection. bag2

If items are found not be in accordance with the Recycling Guidelines for pickup, they will not be collected. 

Wasatch County, UT: You are not required to use the teal/blue bags for your mixed recyclables and instead can use your own white or transparent 13-gallon kitchen trash bags. If you would like to use Recyclops bags instead of your own, please fill out a bag order form here.

Chesapeake, VA: Please place your recycling on your private property, such as the corner of your driveway. Do not place it on city right-of-ways (such as the area between a sidewalk and street) or on the street.
